The title of the Latino American documentary “Prejudice & Pride” relate to the content of the documentary and the Chicano movement in many ways. According to the video, in 1940, Delano, California people from the minority communities were living segregated lives. The video narrator explains an incident during that year that brought into attention and accelerated the Latino Americans movement. The movement started in a movie theatre when Caesar Chavez, a Navy veteran went to watch movie and sat in the middle where only the whitespeople were allowed and the rest of the minority people sat on the sides. Caesar Chavez had served his country and he felt that he was right to sit in the middle. After refusing to move, the police were called and arrested him and released after a few hours.
